CHAMPIONSHIP League Snooker returns on Monday with seven of the game's top players vying to become the third man into the Winners' Group.

Scotland's Stephen Maguire and John Higgins won the first and second groups respectively of the event, which can be only viewed online via a number of betting websites.

Seven-time World Champion Stephen Hendry joins the set-up as does 2008 Premier League semi-finalist Joe Perry and Mark Allen, who defeated Higgins in the PokerStars.com Masters earlier this week.

They will be joined by 2009 Championship League winner Judd Trump and the players ranked five, eight and nine in the world - Ali Carter, Marco Fu and Neil Robertson.

The group phase sees the seven players meet the others once in a round-robin match. Each encounter is the first to three and the winners get one point with the losers getting zero. The top four after the league phase advance into the semi-finals with the winners meeting in the final with the group champion joining Maguire, Higgins and four others in the Winners' Group in March.

The man who is the champion of the Winners' Group will qualify for Matchroom Sport's Premier League Snooker in the Autumn.
