Northern Ireland’s Mark Allen recorded three wins from three starts to give himself an excellent chance of making the play-offs of Championship League Snooker as the 2010 event draws to its conclusion.
Allen, the World No.11, took down Neil Robertson, Jamie Cope and Marco Fu, to cement a claim for a semi-final spot and a shot at the £10,000 first prize as well as a place in this year’s Premier League.
Hot on his heels come Stephen Maguire and Neil Robertson with two wins from three starts. On the same number of points but having played a further match are 2009 champion Judd Trump and Hong Kong’s Marco Fu.
Rooted to the foot of the table is Jamie Cope who had a nightmare, losing all four games and only recording five frames in the plus column. World Champion John Higgins is also in trouble but has the opportunity to haul himself back into the reckoning with three games tomorrow.
Played at Crondon Park Golf Club in rural Essex, Championship League Snooker is produced exclusively for live streaming on internet betting sites throughout the world. Players earn £100 per frame won and the top four players after the remainder of the group matches tomorrow then play in best of five semi-finals.
The final group of Championship League Snooker is the most lucrative with £10,000 going to the winner, £5,000 to the runner-up and £3,000 each for the semi-finalists. The ‘frame money’ is £200 for the league stage which increases to £300 for the semis and the final.
There are a further nine league matches on Thursday 25th with the best of five play-offs to follow.
